President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday highlighted the transformative role of education in empowering tribal communities and promoting inclusive growth during her visit to Jharkhand. Speaking at the Antarrajyiy Jansanskritik Samagam Samaroh–Kartik Jatra, a folk cultural gathering in Gumla district, President Droupadi Murmu urged educated citizens to help raise awareness about government welfare schemes at the local level.

She said education not only shapes personality and creates opportunities but also promotes social justice and inclusion. The President said the government is focused on helping tribal communities and making sure development reaches the most disadvantaged. She also mentioned Birsa Munda initiatives that improve access to housing, clean water, roads, schools, and other basic needs.

Stressing the need to preserve culture alongside development, she encouraged young people to move forward without losing their cultural identity. On the demand for a tribal university in Gumla, President Murmu said she would support efforts in this direction and hoped the state government would take the lead in meeting the people’s aspirations.

Speaking at the occasion, Chief Minister Sai remarked that Naxalism in Chhattisgarh is in its final phase, with over 400 villages freed from its influence and now moving towards development.

President Murmu is currently on a three-day visit to Jharkhand. On Monday, she attended the 22nd Santali Parsi Maha celebrations and the centenary of the Ol Chiki script in Jamshedpur’s Karandih area. She also presided over the 15th convocation ceremony of the National Institute of Technology (NIT). Earlier on Tuesday, she met Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, his wife, and MLA Kalpana Soren at Lok Bhawan in Ranchi before departing for Delhi in the afternoon.
