Background

Career247, the skilling and higher education division of Adda Education, has joined hands with IBM to use the IBM Career Education programme. This partnership will help students in India’s Tier 2 and Tier 3 regions learn important technology skills. The goal is to give these students better access to industry-ready digital training, which they often miss out on due to limited opportunities.

As part of the collaboration, Career247 will offer certification programmes in generative AI, cybersecurity, full-stack development, and data analytics. These programmes will include IBM’s guided labs, industry-based challenges, and expert masterclasses. Students who complete the courses will receive a joint IBM–Career247 certificate, which is expected to strengthen their job prospects in the digital sector.

Career247 said the initiative focuses on building practical skills that match industry needs, especially as demand for trained professionals continues to rise. The organisation aims to provide structured and hands-on learning to help young people prepare for opportunities in fast-growing digital roles.

Bimaljeet Singh Bhasin, CEO of Skilling & Higher Education at Adda Education, noted that the programme aims to expand technology training opportunities beyond large urban centers. He also mentioned that it is intended to help first-generation professionals advance their careers in private-sector fields.

Viswanath Ramaswamy, VP, Technology at IBM India & South Asia, said the IBM Career Education programme exposes learners to real-world use cases through practical labs and industry-informed content, helping them understand how emerging technologies are applied.

The partnership also aligns with India’s push for stronger digital capabilities across sectors. Career247 expects to train several thousand learners next year. This will help grow the country’s skill-building ecosystem and support its wider digital-economy goals.
